Abandoned Mental Hospital

July24

According to Wikipedia, Hellingly Hospital was a mental hospital located in the village of Hellingly, in East Sussex, Britain.

It now stands in ruins and is earmarked for development.

There’s just something very creepy about empty asylums, isn’t it? Although I’ve blogged about ghost towns such as Gukanjima island, this one definitely has a higher creepy-factor. One can stand in the middle of the large empty hallway and just imagine the past occupants and wails that used to trail down the halls when it was still up and running.

mechanised has taken loads of marvellous pictures of the defunct and abandoned hospital, enough to send shivers down anyone’s spine.
